The country is crumbling under the vicious attack of a pandemic that struck out of blue and proved us how big a failure our medical system it. It is the bravery of the doctors, nurses and healthcare staffs that is keeping the battered system standing, and they are overworking, under-paid and quite often not paid, that thing is also happening, they have to come out and demand for their salaries, not a raise! What a shame! Is this how a country treats its heroes? They are heroes and heroines of the pandemic age. The way they and cops [mostly] have served the public during this crisis is laudable, worth rewards!
The tragedy has struck the poor people of this country in the worst way, one after the other industries have been forced to cut short their labour force and many have all together closed down. Too many are in a dark pit of despair and abject poverty.
What do we need in a time like this? New hospitals- absolutely! New industries- Absolutely yes! Raise the salaries of cops and health-workers? Will be great! Or at-least a consolidated amount of money for their services!
Do we need another parliament house? NO!!!
We need the government to help the poor, the unemployed and those who are suffering because of pandemic, that is more urgent and necessary, not another luxurious condominium for our elite class at the expense of TAXPAYER’S MONEY. If they want to build a new palace for themselves they can spend their own money, they have truckload of it in Indian and overseas accounts!
What happened to the old one? The gorgeous building is still standing tall and healthy, so why do we need a new parliament building reflecting the sentiments of Hindus only?
Who bagged the prize? Guess who? Tata of course! So who will be benefitted by this extremely expensive project of Indian Government by TAXPAYERS MONEY? Another industrial house close to the prime minister and his party!
What will public do? Sleep!
I don’t see the parliament House crumbling down. The entire central vista project is a loot of public money.
Spending our money for nothing.
The current parliament building is a hundred years old structure. It needs repair and maintenance. At present, the government spends much money (in tunes of crores) every year to accommodate government staff that needs to work for ministries and parliament in rented offices. In conclusion, this move will actually save money. Congress government has sanctioned the project for building a new parliament building in 2012. Modi Government delayed it up to 2021. The people who are not happy with progress of our nation need treatment. If the people who have ruined their state and its economy are questioning the people with the proven track record of improving enterprise and ease of doing business, it must be questioned.
Few points for you to consider: The Land Accusition in Singur was declared illegal by the Court. Any comments on that? Do some research on Tata / Birla / Ambani / Adani before blowing their trumpet. The ‘replacement’ of the entire Parliamentary structure if made, was made in 2012 when there was no such calamity (If you think we are in the middle of an economic disaster that is..) was foreseen.
