We the people, are unique because of our mind. The mind, which helps us to think. Then thinking motivates us for achievement. Therefore desire to achieve takes us to plan. Plan forces us to act.
The mind. Without human body, such mind has no value. So minimum requirement is to having a mind which can command body in terms of thinking,changing, adjustments innovation and growing.
Such mind, is the master of mankind. Such mind is not our creation. We’re created from the nature, of the nature, made by nature ,provided all necessary tools in body along with mind, heart and emotion and outer circumstances. Vast this creation ,we know nothing about him who has crafted us. But takes all the credits being human.
At the end, this owning attitude takes us away from root of the nature. Then that is main game of life. Letting us to be independent, individual, into unknown events of time’s .
Gratitude is,remembering our root and taking all things around odd or fine, as it is and be happier. Gratitude is being lotus leaf carries a drop of water as symbol of life. Along with unknown allowing nature for guiding me to next step, except regretting.
Philosophers has said thousands of years ago ‘be happy with little ‘.’Be soft and gentle to provisions the universe has offered to your body and soul’s. ‘Be grateful to universe who is asking nothing from you. Everything was in nature before you take birth so you can survive for nearly hundred year”.
Indian Hindu civilization is based on the philosophy – “everything comes from greatness, everything will merge into him. We come as the greatest wished, we will leave when that power would decide ‘. Beyond religion, it is. A power or energy has the thread of the centire universe. We ultimately deny and forget our root and unknown process of being human. Leading with EGO, therefore we start to suffer and thrive. On the journey removing ego and accept the life in humble sense as a gift, the way to gratitude.
Philosopher Cicero has described gratitude as greatest virtue and parent of other virtues.
In my understanding, I would say, ‘gratitude is opened door towards finding life in meaning of greatness a true spiritual walkway towards lights’.
We tend to remember what hurts because either that has broken nor created us. That transformed us into different best or ugly form. Less we remember good times daily. We tend to complain, what we don’t have, ignoring what we do have. We tend to take, before return something. We tend to criticize before appreciation. In circle of attitude we allow critical atmosphere in mind and live life as we think. Much we dissatisfied, much we forget to acknowledge things in life. Philosopher Seneca says, much man owes, much he hates, much he hates, much he suffers. Any kind of event is coming to me as form of gift, may it wound, or pleasure. Both are actually leading me to become what makes me.
So acknowledging even a small thing coming from surrounding is first step of gratitude. Debt to the life does mean, holding on events, (accidents or incidents ) ,reacting according. Much debts, more hates. Debt releasing happen when man looks towards event gracefully in awe.
Something has learned. Something went away. Something healed and something new is opening up. The realization is having acceptance, lesson, forgotten, forgiving and moving on. That is together called Gratitude.
Perhaps this is why practicing gratitude is so difficult. I appreciate you in desire, you would do same that’s normal. Difficult is I appreciate you without having any desire you do the same. I do something, and let go . Easy? Not at all. We keep rolling in circle of criticism, guilt, complaining and ignorance and expectations.
Simple Thank You is not really gratitude. Gratitude is also an emotion. You must feel, understand and express from core of the soul. Unless you’ve felt the event and its result in life thank you would just be a word. It is empathetic emotion, that turns man from receiver into a giver, first to self,next to else.
Individual transformation build greater society. Individual mind in a large group build up combined mind. Think, man who accepts,understands and happy whatever he has could be a blessed personality.
Such million minds can build perfect balanced combined mind of society. Therefore diversity in mankind, division of wealth health resources can be distributed in a balanced way. Otherwise combined mind will be engaged in conflict poverty, injustice etc.
Philosopher Sri RamKrishna has said-“many ideologies many paths. Many paths ultimately marching towards the Oneness “. Acknowledging diversity and acceptance theirs and mine’s in core heart, is gratitude.
Exactly opposite we practice in our personal life. We want everything should be according our choices and force what is not. Conflict thus stays.
Why gratitude is difficult ?
The virtue which has bigger picture more than a Thank you, obviously will be difficult to cultivate. This is opening door to spiritual inner world we search through whole life. Once person understand bad or good things happening because he is growing through it. Regretting, complaining stops and peace takes center place. In case, pondering yet on errors,why,who ,what, man lives himself is in suffering, while conflicting atmosphere by his presence. Practicing gratitude is way of life. In a way to moving on, in peaceful heart and mind. Now mind is quiet. Not forcing anything which is unnecessary. And that takes human mind towards a higher level of compassion, spiritually. Person becomes focused, visionary and revolution himself. Perhaps so it is difficult. Because task is to build a paradise in ourselves.

- Be a giver, release criticism
- Respect your life
- Understand and heal
- Breathing practice
- Planting, reading, good companion
- Keeping journal
- Meeting old dues in humble humanity
- At time of unhappiness, taking it as lesson
- At time of stress, have faith.
Keeping gratitude journal is one of old practice. Reminder to things you have, before you asked, expected. Journal to remind you, good comes with bad, bad goes after good. Be observer of thoughts,let them floats,don’t involve self, then focus on breathing,
Writing hundred things you are thankful is quite tough. At the beginning,page remains empty almost. Regular practice will push you to best state of mind and journal page will be fulfilled gradually. Write gratitude journal.
Be grateful for everything, bad or good, don’t matter. Be grateful for things you’ve, also for those you don’t have. After all we know nothing how much we can become if mind is balanced. Balanced mind is cause of true success.
